Step into the unique world of Enduata

At Enduata Camps, people and experiences sit at the heart of what we do, alongside the wild beauty of Tanzania and the proud traditions of the Maasai.

For Matt, the dream of Africa began as a child, when he was fortunate enough to travel on safari with his own family. Those early adventures, exploring wild landscapes and encountering extraordinary wildlife, left a lasting impression.

Over the years, he returned, first with his wife to South Africa and Kenya, and later with his children, each journey reigniting his fascination and deepening his appreciation for the charm of safari. Part of the appeal for Matt has always been the unpredictability of Africa, the sense that every day on safari brings something entirely new, unexpected and unforgettable. It was on returning to Tanzania with his family that the idea truly took shape: to combine his passion for hospitality, food, and wine with the dream to create a place where others could share in this extraordinary experience.

When Matt met Michael in the Serengeti, the vision started to come to life. Michael, with over 13 years of guiding experience and an unwavering pride in his country and culture, dreamed of creating something that would combine his love of guiding guests with the opportunity to give back to the community and environment. Their shared values quickly aligned, and together they began planning a camp that would convey safari elegance while being authentic and sustainable, employing and empowering local people, and creating unforgettable memories for guests, families, honeymooners, and adventurers alike.

In late 2024, they launched Enduata Safari Camps, with their first property, Wakati Tented Camp, opening December 2025 under Michael’s leadership. Sharing complementary strengths, Matt’s love of hospitality and Michael’s deep knowledge of the Serengeti, the vision is clear: to celebrate the wilderness, support conservation and communities, and offer guests a safari experience that is as meaningful as it is memorable.

We have employed experienced chefs, staff, as well as training up newcomers to the tourism industry to create opportunities for young people. Every team member is dedicated to providing exceptional service and creating a welcoming, friendly environment for our guests.

Enduata is committed to hiring locally and supporting local producers wherever possible – from the food and drink we source for the camp to the hand-crafted furniture in your tent. Enduata is proud to support local artisans, farmers and ensure income from tourism reaches real people.

We are committed to supporting local communities

Our tents are handcrafted and stitched in Arusha. Our wood is sourced from nearby timber yards and all the camp furniture is handmade in Arusha by local manufacturers. We also partner with local firms for Wi-Fi, solar energy generation and plumbing services. Additionally, we strive to source as many ingredients as possible from surrounding towns and villages.

Tied to tradition

Many of our staff come from villages just outside the Serengeti, creating vital employment opportunities and income to their rural communities.

We celebrate their Maasai culture and welcome our guests to learn more about their heritage as well as what modern life looks like for Tanzanians today.

The Serengeti, a land of awe-inspiring beauty and untamed wilderness, will leave a life-long impression on you.

Remember, “Haraka haraka haina Baraka” – Hurry, hurry has no blessings. Take your time to soak in the wonders of this unique place.

Sustainability

With our focus on light footprint tented camps, local employment and sourcing, we have created Enduata Luxury Tented Camps with a vision to create a positive impact on the national parks and surrounding communities in Tanzania.

By travelling to Tanzania and experiencing a safari with us, you are playing your part in supporting the preservation and growth of wildlife, habitats and the wellbeing of rural communities.

As we grow, we will continue to work closely with communities, park authorities and industry partners to achieve the best possible long-term outcomes for all concerned.

We hope travellers can experience the wonders of the Serengeti in a sustainable way for many generations to come.
