At Enduata Camps, people and experiences sit at the heart of what we do, alongside the wild beauty of Tanzania and the proud traditions of the Maasai.
Enduata Camps was born from a shared vision to create meaningful, breathtaking but low-impact safari experiences that benefit both local communities and wildlife. A camp envisioned and hosted by guides, with every detail crafted to prioritise the safari experience, with all the luxury comforts to complement.
Located deep in the central Serengeti, the camp is approximately 15 kilometres from the nearest road. It occupies a pristine site with open views extending over 60 kilometres of wilderness.
For Matt, Africa’s unpredictability and the promise of new, unforgettable experiences each day have always been part of its appeal. Returning to Tanzania with his family inspired him to combine his passion for hospitality with the goal of creating a place where others could share this extraordinary experience.
Matt’s meeting with Michael in the Serengeti brought the idea to life. With deep pride in his country and culture and guiding experience since 2013, Michael aspired to combine his passion for guiding with the opportunity to support both the community and the environment.
In late 2024, they launched Enduata Safari Camps, opening their first property, Wild Wakati Camp, under Michael’s leadership. Their vision is to celebrate the wilderness, support conservation and communities, and provide guests with a safari experience that is both meaningful and memorable.
We have employed experienced chefs, staff, as well as training up newcomers to the tourism industry to create opportunities for young people. Every team member is dedicated to providing exceptional service and creating a welcoming, friendly environment for our guests.
Enduata is committed to hiring locally and supporting local producers wherever possible – from the food and drink we source for the camp to the hand-crafted furniture in your tent. Enduata is proud to support local artisans, farmers and ensure income from tourism reaches real people.
Our tents are handcrafted and stitched in Arusha. Our wood is sourced from nearby timber yards and all the camp furniture is handmade in Arusha by local manufacturers. We also partner with local firms for Wi-Fi, solar energy generation and plumbing services. Additionally, we strive to source as many ingredients as possible from surrounding towns and villages.
Many of our staff come from villages around the Serengeti, creating vital employment opportunities and income for their rural communities. We help to train staff in all areas of hospitality, and their unwavering spirit makes this not only a place of work, but a place of discovery and adventure.
Here at Enduata, we fully celebrate the Maasai culture and their heritage is included in everything we do – from the daily practices to the outstanding food, celebrating local culture and traditions are woven into our everyday life.
There’s a popular saying here in Tanzania which is “haraka haraka haina Baraka” – meaning ‘hurry has no blessings’. Take your time to soak in the wonders of this unique place, which will undoubtedly leave a life-long impression on you.
With our focus on light footprint tented camps, local employment and sourcing, we have created Enduata Luxury Tented Camps with a vision to create a positive impact on the national parks and surrounding communities in Tanzania.
By travelling to Tanzania and experiencing a safari with us, you are playing your part in supporting the preservation and growth of wildlife, habitats and the wellbeing of rural communities.
As we grow, we will continue to work closely with communities, park authorities and industry partners to achieve the best possible long-term outcomes for all concerned.
We hope travellers can experience the wonders of the Serengeti in a sustainable way for many generations to come.
